Job Title: Language Center Manager

Starting date: September 30th, 2024.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:30am-6:30pm (no work from home). These hours are subject to change at the discretion of the Director.
Position Summary:
The Language Center Manager will be on the frontlines of customer service for the Language Center, Montclair branch. This person will be knowledgeable in all Language Center activities (group classes, private lessons, corporate lessons, exams,) and be able to confidently reply to any customer or potential client. The Language Center Manager will look for patterns in these interactions to help improve communication with students as well as the Language Center’s operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee and supervise daily operations
• Greet and welcome prospective clients, students, and parents
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
• Answer inquiries promptly by phone and email
• Keep students and families informed of class changes
• Register students in person or by phone
• Specifically manage private and corporate classes
• Supervise the receptionist
• Oversee and run the volunteer program
• Ensure compliance with internal regulations and policies
• Create class schedules and assign teachers
• Verify and approve hourly staff hours
• Perform administrative tasks (e.g., preparing rosters, certificates)
• Place orders for office and school materials
• Contact and communicate with vendors
• Represent the Montclair Campus of L’Alliance New York in public events
• Assist teachers in the classroom when necessary
• Maintain a neat and welcoming reception area

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent written and communication skills in English.
• Ability to communicate clearly in French.
• Ability to take initiative and use creative problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude, team player.
