FASSV is seeking a collaborative, innovative, conscientious, and experienced administrator to join the team as Assistant Head of School—Lower Campus (AHoS-LC).
A beacon of excellence in 50/50 bilingual education, FASSV has two campuses in Silicon Valley. The Lower Campus (preschool to 3rd grade) is in Sunnyvale, CA and the Upper Campus (4th to 8th grade) is in Santa Clara, CA. They are approximately 5 miles apart.
The Assistant Head of School–Lower Campus will lead academics and operations for the school’s lower campus staff, site, and preschool to 3rd grade. Reporting to and in close partnership with the Head of School, Martine Trusz, the AHoS-LC will be managing, developing, supporting, and evaluating faculty and ensuring excellence in the development, delivery, and assessment of the preschool to 3rd grade academic and co-curricular program. The Assistant Head will be a critical partner in coordinating various strategic, educational, and operational initiatives designed to align the school’s mission and values with its policies, and practices while ensuring the continuation of its joyful, curious, and inclusive culture.
STRATEGEIC PRIORITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES
*As the school’s academic leader, continuously assess and develop the school’s educational programs, policies, and practices, ensuring that they are aligned between the Lower and Upper Campuses and reflect the school’s mission and values
*In collaboration with the Assistant Head of School–Upper Campus, develop and implement numerous strategies for student retention, especially the marketing of the Middle School across all younger FASSV students and especially through the participation of FASSV Middle School students in various events on and off campus
*In collaboration with the Head of School and senior leadership team, conceptualize and build a Parent Education program on relevant topics that advance a school-home partnership to support student growth and development
Continuously improve and accordingly grow the local and remote field trip program which is essential to the overall academic program
*As their direct manager, take full responsibility for teaching staff at lower campus (Preschool to 3rd Grade), fostering strong working relationships across French and English Teachers and Teacher’s Assistants
*Develop and coordinate a professional development program and create a positive, growth-oriented, and mission-based professional culture
*Provide constructive, timely, and iterative qualitative feedback to individually develop AHoS-LC staff through coaching
*Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values bilingualism and cultural diversity
*Participate in budget planning and resource allocation to support academic and extracurricular programs.
*Support and enhance efforts to recruit and retain talented faculty consistent with the school’s mission and values
*Lead the school’s accreditation process and recommendations response
Salary Range: $180,000-$200,000
