Are you a French-speaking educator passionate about introducing young children to the French language in a joyful, creative, and supportive environment?
The Language and Laughter Studio (LLS), a progressive French immersion program in Brooklyn, is seeking a warm, enthusiastic After-School French Teacher to lead engaging French grammar or beginner classes for children ages 5–8. This is a part-time position, one to two afternoons per week, for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours per session.
Location: We are located in Clinton Hill at 462 Vanderbilt Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, making it convenient for applicants to assess their commute.
Start Date & Schedule:
Classes will begin at the end of September and run by semester (Fall: Sept–Dec, Winter & Spring sessions to follow).
All weekdays (Monday–Friday) are currently open for scheduling, and final teaching days will be arranged based on mutual availability.
About the Role:
Teach weekly after-school French classes to small groups of children (ages 5–8).
Develop a semester-long curriculum focused on either French grammar or beginner-level conversation and vocabulary.
Prepare engaging, age-appropriate activities that make learning French fun and accessible.
Send weekly recap emails to families summarizing the class and sharing vocabulary and key concepts covered.
Foster a warm and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation, curiosity, and joy in language learning.
Qualifications:
Fluent French speaker.
Experience teaching or working with children aged 5–8.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Able to plan and lead classes independently.
A passion for language, education, and creative curriculum design.
Interest in progressive and play-based educational approaches.
