Letter to My Father is a site-specific installation by Janet Jaffke, inspired by her 95-year-old father’s handwritten journal and by the letters he wrote to her when she left the United States to make a new life in France. Those pages become an immersive environment of translucent fabric, fragmented text, and light. Through suspended layers of gauze and silkscreened writing, the work reflects on memory, mortality, and the connections that endure across generations and across an ocean.
