Kick off the summer season in music with the new musical show “Timeless Songs from the Silver Screen” on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 7pm at off-Broadway Triad Theater (158 West 72nd Street – bet. Amsterdam & Columbus – SECOND FLOOR – www.triadnyc.com).
Written by French-born Laurence Pierron, “Timeless Songs from the Silver Screen” is a musical show honoring France, Germany, and Hollywood’s composers and songwriters and their power of their music in the film industry. This musical journey takes you from the start of silent movies in France in 1890, to the birth of the “talkies” in the United States in 1927, to today’s tight collaborations between filmmakers and composers, including Irving Berlin, Charlie Chaplin, John Williams, Henri Mancini, George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, John Barry, Michel Legrand, John Kander, Friedrich Hollaender, Ludovic Bource, and many more.
Luxembourg/German international singer Adrienne Haan is taking center stage accompanied by musical director Richard Danley on piano. Concert pianist Mira Armij Gill and violinist Francisco Salazar will be our special guests. All four artists have recently performed at Carnegie Hall.
This show will forever change the way you appreciate the intricate relationship between music and films, and the vital role of these composers as well as their impact on the audience, for generations to come.
